I'm mostly a lurker on this list. I'm working with Luisa Beck to put
together a blog post for the MIT Center for Civic Media about making
maps for journalists and we are looking to cite a case where mapping
actually was _not_ ideal because not everybody wants to be mapped. In
these cases mapping can be an invasion of privacy or serve to "out"

Capturing all of sensory data (temperature, barometric pressure ) in a
timestamped CVS file is complex(we have to use external library (Library<[link]>)
to create .csv file). Instead of that can we use sql database to store all
the parameter??
For weather info, I used weather.com data in my GPS navigation app so that

For the Visible and NIR imaging of community garden, Stewart got a pretty
nice set of visible and nir images.

Chris Fastie ran Ned Horning's ImageJ tool on the one of the image pairs in
Stewart's visible map and output NDVI and NRG images of the community
garden for an interesting result and nice example.

Hey
I just opened a new map for stitching, but I didn't enter lat. long. info.
Is there a way to add this info in the stitching stage? cause it is
difficult to find the location I need manually.

Re: [PLOTS] Hot Air Balloon Article

mayo 16, 2013 - 09:35
I'm with Michele, hot air balloons are magnificent but fairly impractical
for mapping. You have to have perfect conditions- basically no wind.
Solar hot air is much safer, but then you need even more difficult
conditions: no wind, full sun. On the bright side, even a huge solar hot
air balloon packs down to a lightweight ~20cm ball, so I keep one in my kit

I posted this here as well (with pictures):

On our recent balloon mapping expedition in Qatar, we used a GoPro Hero3
Black to capture images. This camera doesn't put any lens information into
the EXIF data, so post-processing the images is quite difficult.
